Joan Clare Hapcic, born on April 4, 1949, in Warren, Ohio, passed away on October 4, 2024, with her daughter at her side after a long battle with kidney disease. She spent her final years living between Florida and Ohio, where she embraced the warmth of family, friends, and the beauty of nature.
Joan enjoyed a fulfilling career at Packard Electric where she retired many years ago. She was a passionate gardener and an avid bird lover, finding joy in nurturing both her plants and the wildlife around her. Joan had a deep love for dancing, often expressing her vibrant spirit. Her favorite place in the world was the beach, where she created countless memories with loved ones, enjoying the sun and the sound of the waves. Above all, Joan cherished her family, treasuring the time spent with them.
She was a devoted wife to John J. Hapcic and cherished every moment she spent with her family. Joan was a proud mother to her daughter, Bridy Hapcic, and a loving nana to Jonica Hapcic. Joan also leaves behind her sister, Mary Lou (Ernest) Kratsas, brother-in-law James Hassage, daughter-in-law Margaret (Clancy) Hapcic, and daughter’s long-time partner, Ron Sharfal.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Fetchko, husband, John J. Hapcic, and her son, Jonathan J. Hapcic, as well as a brother, Roy Fetcho, and sister, Alyce Harker.
Joan will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
