On Saturday, May 30, 2026, Johanna Mae Bolina, age 56, known affectionately as Jody, passed away at home in Poland, OH. She was born January 14, 1970, in Youngstown, OH, to George and Marcie (Duncan) Bolina.
She was a proud 1988 graduate of Springfield Local High School. An animal lover, Jody cherished her fur babies dearly. She was also an excellent athlete, particularly enjoying basketball, and was an avid fan of Michael Jordan. Though she might have appeared tough on the outside, she possessed a heart of gold, making her beloved by many.
Jody was a vibrant individual who lived life "fast and furious." She had a passion for sports cars and loved loud 80's music. Known for her altruism, Jody was always ready to help others, doing so generously and without hesitation. Her love for her family was profound, often expressed through long phone calls that bridged any distance, making her feel close to heart despite the miles.
She is survived by her stepmother, Norma Bolina; sisters, Lisa (Steve) Krall, Lori Vagnarelli, Marvelle Duncan-Melim, and Donna Wemple; brother, George Bolina; nephew, Gage Krall; nieces, Gianna Vagnarelli and Skyla Krall; and a lifelong partner, Maria Gonzalez of Texas.
Besides her parents, Jody was preceded in death by her grandparents, Johanna and George Bolina.
Jody's legacy of kindness, passion for life, and the joy she brought to her family and friends will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Jody's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Southern Care Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
