John Casmir Kaluza Sr

On Wednesday, December 24, 2025, John Casmir Kaluza Sr., age 89, passed away at Hospice House. He was born April 26, 1936, to Stanley and Anna (Shipek) Kaluza Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Donna J. Zetterquist; children, John Kaluza Jr., and Karen (Leo) Cutlip; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1961-1965 and was honorably discharged as a Specialist 4. After leaving the service, John worked as a coil operator for the Youngstown Steel Door Company for 27 years before retiring in 1992. 

In his free time, John could be found on the golf course or bowling in one of many leagues and tournaments. He enjoyed going to the casinos, playing the lottery, and his morning coffee at McDonald's with his group of friends. John was a very proud and good man who always put his family first, and always took care of them. His legacy of compassion and strength will live on in all who knew him.

There will be no calling hours. A private service will take place at a later date with immediate family.
