On Saturday, October 25, 2025, John Philip Kimla Jr., age 68, of Warren, OH, passed away at his home. He was born on May 6, 1957, in Youngstown, OH, to John and Roseanne (Canizaro) Kimla.
A graduate of Liberty High School, John spent many years working in construction, remodeling, and maintenance across Hawaii, Virginia, and Nevada. In his younger years, John enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting—pastimes that brought him peace and connection to nature.
John is survived by his daughters, Jonna Kimla and Calina Kimla; granddaughter, Alialani Kimla; brother, Philip Kimla; sister-in-law, Victoria Kimla; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also supported in his final journey by his childhood friend Jerry Simon, who drove him from Virginia in his RV so that John could return home to be with family, two weeks before his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mark Kimla; and granddaughters Lanaya Strozier and McKenzie Strozier.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
