Joseph Innocenzi Obituary

On Thursday, July 9, 2026, Joseph Narciso Innocenzi, age 79, of New Middletown, OH, passed away at home surrounded by family. He was born March 5, 1947, in Youngstown, OH, to Richard and Anna Marie (Cortese) Innocenzi.

Joseph was a proud graduate of South High School, Class of 1965. After completing his education, he embarked on a long and dedicated career at General Motors. As a general supervisor, Joseph exemplified hard work and leadership until his retirement in 2011. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his devotion to the traditions and values that defined his life.

A man deeply rooted in tradition, Joseph found joy in the simple yet meaningful pleasures of life. He was known for his homemade wine, sausage, and homegrown garlic—treasures that reflected his love for family and heritage. These traditions were not just hobbies but a way of bringing people together and celebrating life’s richness. Joseph also shared his passion for skiing as an instructor, passing on his skills and enthusiasm to others.

Family was at the heart of Joseph’s life. He is survived by his children, Joseph S. (Melissa) Innocenzi and Elizabeth A. Innocenzi; grandchildren, Victoria L. Innocenzi of California, Sabrina K. (Tyler) Jones Keltz of Ohio, Joseph N. Innocenzi of Oregon, Ella Essiambre of North Carolina, and Jacob Essiambre of California; and great-granddaughters Bonnie Jean Innocenzi of Oregon and Skylar C.L. Keltz of Ohio; brother Richard Innocenzi; sisters Maryann Tromboli and Rosemary Innocenzi. His unwavering love for them will forever be cherished.

Joseph also held dear the friendships that enriched his journey through life. Among those closest to him were Dominic Precurato of Ohio and Jack Graff of Pennsylvania. Their bonds were a testament to the loyalty and kindness that Joseph extended to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved granddaughter Samantha L. Jones; brother Tony Innocenzi; sister-in-law Marcella Innocenzi; brother-in-law Armondo Tromboli; and dear friend John Ceary.

Joseph’s legacy is one of love, tradition, and dedication—a life well-lived that touched many hearts. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 1:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life Dinner to follow at 2:00 pm.
