It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Michael “Mickey” Nanosky announces his passing on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
He was born July 10, 1945, in Meridian MS to John and Amy (Moore) Nanosky. Mickey graduated from Chaney High School, class of 1963, and joined the United States Air Force in 1965, serving his country in Vietnam at the Tuy Hoa Airbase. Mickey worked in the optical business for 42 years, owning and operating A1 Optical Labs in Youngstown and later Kinsman Optical in Kinsman OH with his wife, for 22 years before retiring in 2010.
He enjoyed camping with his family and was an avid sports fan. He loved playing softball and recreational basketball with all his buddies until his knees said "No More". Mick loved and owned several classic cars and shared this love with his wife and sons.
Besides his wife, the former Linda Stilson, whom he married on December 6, 1975, he leaves three sons, Ron (Kim) of Boardman, Nick (Christina) of Youngstown, Scott (Sarah) of Youngstown, and two precious granddaughters, Scarlett and Iris, whom he adores. He also leaves his sister Janis (Phil) Barth and his furry-footed kids, Archie, Stinky, and Lulu, who were always by his side.
Per his wishes, there will be no services.
