Joyce Lynn Farrell

On Monday, July 23, 2018, Joyce Lynn Farrell, age 79, passed away unexpectedly at home.  She was born in Clearfield, PA on July 29, 1938 to James and May (Hawkins) Farrell.

Joyce worked for twenty-two years at The Vindicator in its Building Services Department and for ten years for the Youngstown Window Cleaning Company.  She had a great interest in the news which led her to create a radio talk show newsletter called The Farrell Report and the website the Reporter's Notebook which was used on a regular basis by legendary talk show host, Dan Ryan.

Joyce was a regular contributor to the local website Mahoningvalley.info where she was known as "towntalk" and provided other users with historic information about Youngstown.  When she was not busy with websites, she was an avid collector of radio programs from the golden age of radio and had a library of over six thousand programs.  She was a lover of great music and her favorite orchestras were Andre Rieu and James Last.

Joyce's wishes were simple.  She wanted to be cremated without any fanfare.
