Julia "Judy" (Jonda) Essad

On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, Julia "Judy" Essad, age 83, passed way at Hospice House in Poland, OH. She was born in Youngstown, OH on February 27, 1941, to Joseph and Julia (Preston) Jonda.

Judy is survived by her children, Jacqueline Shearer of Youngstown, Sharon (Bob) Palinski of Austintown, Matthew (Charity) Shearer of Struthers; grandchildren, Melissa Hudson, Jeffrey (Christin) Santiago, Edward Santiago, Angie (Ross) Harris, Jessica Santiago, Ryan Shearer, Sara Shearer; great-grandchildren, Michael, Marco, Rossy, Alexandria, Jayden, Isaiah, Asher, Alexa; siblings, John (Mary) Jonda, James Jonda, Joanne Salsgiver; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.

Judy was a waitress most of her life at Ding Ho Restaurant on Market St in Youngstown until the owners retired. Afterward she moved on to several Chinese restaurants in the area. Judy was also a long time member of Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church. She loved taking drives in her car, traveling to every state except Hawaii, sitting out on her porch, taking pictures, crossword puzzles, movies, music, amusements parks and their roller coasters!

Besides her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Roberts Essad; son, Earnist Shearer and brother, Joseph Jonda.

Viewing and family to receive friends from 1:00 to 3:15 pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Cremation & Funeral Service by Gary S Silvat Inc, 3896 Oakwood Ave, Austintown, OH 44515. The Funeral Service will start at 3:15 pm with Fr. Michael Farynets, officiating.
