Kathleen Frances (Caveney) Kern

On Monday, March 16, 2026, Kathleen Frances Kern, aged 83, passed away at Caprice Health Care in North Lima, OH. She was born November 27, 1942, in Washington, PA, to Francis E. and Frances (Forse) Caveney.

A woman of many joys, Kathleen was renowned for her exceptional holiday gatherings. Her home was the heart of family celebrations, especially at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. She took particular joy in baking cookies, candy canes, and gingerbread during the Christmas season, and she loved organizing Easter egg hunts that delighted both the young and the young at heart.

Kathleen is survived by her loving daughters, Debbi (Bill) Vuletich of Austintown, OH, and Paula (Mike) Rubenstahl of Jacobsburg, OH. She was a proud grandmother to Billy (Natasha) Vuletich of Chardon, OH, Dustin (Richard Jones) Vuletich of Florida, and Jesse (fiancée Sydney Sargent) Vuletich of Austintown, OH, Amber (Mike) Murphy of Austintown, OH, Michael Rubenstahl of Moundsville, WV, and Nick (Megan) Rubenstahl of Columbus, OH . Kathleen was also a great-grandmother to Poppy, Baker, Avery, Johnathan, Damien, Iris, Neven, Percy, Austin, Jeana, and Lexa. Her siblings, Eilenee Worley of TN, Mike Caveney of WA, and Darleen (Peter) Sherman of PA also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son Ray "Mick" Kern.

Kathleen's memory will live on through her family and all who knew her. Her kindness and spirit will be missed by many.
