With profound sadness we announce the passing of Kathy Louise Howell, age 74, on Saturday, October 7, 2023. She was our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister to all whose lives she touched. She was born in Salem, Ohio on May 5, 1949, to George Matthew, Sr., and Lois Amelia (Smith) McGinness.
Kathy had a big heart and she showed love and caring to her beloved family, day in and day out. She enjoyed listening to her audio books and watching Jeopardy. Kathy was also very talented, she created many knitted items throughout the years. She also loved hummingbirds.
Kathy will be deeply missed and always remembered by her daughters, Toni and (David) Norman of Niles, Amy Ward of East Palestine; grandchildren, Derek Norman, Michael (Kaylie) Norman, Matthew (Ashley Lockard) Howell, Andrew Ward, Holden Ward; great-grandson’s, Liam and Wyatt; great-grand daughter-due in February 2024; siblings, William Barr of Maryland, Larry Barr of Florida, Scott Barr of MD; Brenda Barr, MD, and Lois Batten of NC.
Besides her parent’s, Kathy was also preceded in death by her husband, Perry Howell; son, Steven Howell; brothers, George McGinness Jr.; Robert Barr Jr., and sister, Mary Lynn Levi.

Kathy will be desperately missed by all the family she's left behind. She was one a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
