Kenneth Eugene Ruby

On Thursday, May 22, 2025, Kenneth E. Ruby, age 76, of Austintown, OH passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. He was born June 13, 1948, in Coalmont, PA to Donald and Verna (Foore) Ruby.

He graduated from Jackson Milton High School in 1967 and went on to dedicate 40 years of service as an assembly line worker at General Motors.

On June 17, 1972, Kenneth married Susanne (Holland) Ruby. Together, they shared 52 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Kenneth was a devoted father to Michael (Jen) Ruby, and Julie (Steve) Skelly, and a proud grandfather to Andrew Ruby, Rhiannon Wade, and Madison (Mark) Camacci. He also leaves behind his siblings Richard Ruby, Robert Ruby, Joanne Oconner, Jesse Ruby, and Melissa Potts, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Betty Bonwick.

A long-time member of Grace Church of the Nazarene, Kenneth served faithfully as both a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent. His deep faith guided his life and inspired those around him.

Kenneth was known for his boundless patience, kindness, and sense of humor. He found joy in cheering for the Steelers, YSU Penguins, and Penn State Nittany Lions. He loved traveling—especially to the Smoky Mountains—and treasured time spent with his family. Whether supporting Sue’s creative ideas or attending every game and event for his children and grandchildren, he was their biggest cheerleader. His loyal four-legged companion Gracie was never far from his side.

Thank you to the nurses and medical staff of Mercy Health and the Hospice House staff for the care and compassion you showed to Kenny. 

Family to receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Grace Church of the Nazarene, 5253 W. Webb Road, Austintown, OH 44515, immediately follow by the Celebration of Life Service at NOON.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Church of the Nazarene or Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley Hospice House by Compassus.
