On Thursday, February 26, 2026, Larry Lee Rhodes, age 74, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away at Hospice House. He was born on January 11, 1952, in Youngstown, OH, to William Rhodes and Helen (Forester) Kashubara.
A 1971 graduate of Western Reserve High School, Larry was employed by Austintown Intermediate School. He will be remembered for his warm personality and the joy he brought to those around him.
Larry is survived by his devoted companion of twenty-one years, Kim Bukovi of Youngstown; his siblings, William (Debra) Rhodes of California, Dennis (Mary) Rhodes of Georgia, Karen (Lyle) Fishel of Greenford, Wendy (the late John) Russell of East Palestine; Kim’s sister, Lisa; and his cherished dog, Grover.
Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sisters, Sally Naples, Beverly Turnbull, twin sister Linda Clark, and his beloved beagles, Patches, Snoopy, and Bo.
Larry found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed attending craft shows and taking spontaneous country drives through the country with Kim. A talented cook, he was particularly known for his macaroni salad and deviled eggs. Larry was a passionate sports fan who loved cheering for the Browns and the Buckeyes. Summer evenings were often spent on the back deck with Kim, listening to oldies music. One of his favorite traditions was decorating for Christmas while enjoying holiday music—he would listen from the first note played on the radio until the season’s end. Larry also had a deep appreciation for good food and looked forward to visiting the Canfield Fair each year to savor The Midway’s culinary delights.
