LeRoy Houk Jr

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, LeRoy Houk Jr., age 67, of Sharon PA, passed away at his home after an extended illness.  He was born on August 11, 1957, in Ellwood City PA, to  the late LeRoy Houk Sr. and the late Ann M. Mitchell.

Leroy enjoyed the outdoors and when he was young, he would spend time at his dad’s cabin riding motorcycles off-road. He also enjoyed swimming and boating.

Through the years, he and his wife, Veronica, enjoyed walking the trails in Parks and National Forests, exploring caves, visiting various museums, and going to car shows. While living in Iowa they enjoyed watching the eagles and enjoyed concerts, antique stores, different restaurants, dark beer, wine, and dark chocolate. LeRoy also enjoyed his pet cats and bird, a cockatoo named Brandi, who would ride on his shoulder driving from Iowa to Pennsylvania. He also enjoyed the summertime spent with his sons, when he resided in Iowa.

LeRoy is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Veronica Ann (Lippmann) Houk, and his sons David Houk and Bruce Houk.

I will miss my love and the thing I’ll miss the most, is just holding hands, albeit walking and holding hands, watching a movie and holding hands, even in bed, holding hands.

A Celebration of Life Service for LeRoy Houk Jr. will take place from 3:00-5:00pm on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Shenango Township Community Park, Kittery Ridge Dr, New Castle, PA (behind the Dairy Queen in Shenango off of Route 65, Shelter D. 

Eulogy for Leroy will be given by our neighbor and good friend, Pastor Gary Reiner. Gary will also say a blessing over the food.

Hot crockpot food to include Philly steak, Meatballs, Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Pasta, Baked beans, Sauerkraut, hot sauce and chili for the hotdogs and burgers. 

Cold food to include potato salad, coleslaw, lettuce salad, pasta with cheese squares, olives and Italian dressing. Buns, Sun chips, cake and Ice cold root beer. If anyone would like to bring a pizza or snacks feel free to do so. 

Veronica will have a few stories to tell and would be pleased to hear a few stories from those attending.
