On Monday, October 6, 2025, Linda Lou Spivey, age 76, of Youngstown OH, passed away at Mercy JHealth - Youngstown after a short illness. She was born August 12, 1949, to Walter and Edna (Rodgers) Hamner. Linda graduated from Chaney High School in 1968. She pursued a career in nursing, dedicating her life to caring for others with compassion and commitment. Her work as a caregiver brought comfort to many and reflected her deep empathy.
Linda was the devoted mother of three daughters; Kathy (Ronald) Carnahan, Becky (Mark) Saxon, and Alexandria (Cliff) Spivey Kilgar. She was also the proud grandmother of Esteban Diaz, JB (Ashley) Thompson, Santino (Rachel) Bleggi, Brian Bleggi II, Maximilian Bleggi, and Ronnie Carnahan and Brittany Marie Spivey. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Noah Thompson, Juliet Thompson, Brian Bleggi III, Aryanna Diaz, Camila Diaz, and Ryleigh Kilgar .
She is remembered by her two brothers, Walter (Jamie) Hamner and Alan Hamner.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Hamner, and her only son, Brian Spivey.
A constant presence in Linda’s life was her best friend of fifty years and final caregiver, Sabrina Butler. Their enduring friendship was a source of strength and comfort throughout the years.
Linda’s life was marked by unwavering dedication—to her family, her profession, and those she held dear. May her memory bring peace to all who knew and loved her.
