Lorene Delores (Peters) Duponty

Lorene Delores Duponty (nee Peters), 69, of Youngstown, Ohio passed away on Thursday October 2nd, 2025, after a long illness.

Lorene was born in Youngstown in 1956 to Robert and Delores Peters and was the youngest of six siblings. She graduated in 1974 from Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown and spent most of her life working in the hospitality service industry in Ohio, Florida, and Georgia. She was an avid reader, mostly of horror and campy romance novels, and loved taking care of her cats. Later in life she took an interest in crafts and painting, often sending her creations to family and friends.

Lorene cared deeply for her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Duponty, and her five siblings. She is survived by sons, Rob (Dr. Megan O’Grady) Peters of Hartford, CT, Aaron (Kerri Gonsalves) Sponaugle of Youngstown, OH; her grandson, Aaron Sponaugle of North Carolina; great-grandson, Gauge Branch of Youngstown, and close friend, Diane Osborne, also of Youngstown, OH and many other friends and family.
