On Friday, January 31, 2025, Edward Haywood Baker, Jr., age 81, of Youngstown, OH passed away peacefully at Heritage Manor. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, PA on September 18, 1943 to Edward H. and Henrietta Baker.
Edward is survived by his sons, Chief MSgt. Daneon "D" (Veronic) Riley of New Mexico, Clay Gilmore,\; siblings, John McDonald, Sidney McDonald, Tyrone Vincent, Blanche Robinson, and cousin, Valorie "Vickie" Lightner who took care of him during the time he lived in Baltimore, MD.
Besides Edward's active duty Army and Air Force Reserves military career, he also worked for Sharon Steel, US Postal Service and Home Improvement Contractor before retiring. He was a faithful Christian and former Deacon at Canaan Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD.he also worked for the US Postal Service. He was a faithful Christian and former Elder at his church in Baltimore.
Viewing and family to receive friends from 3:00 - 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Cremation & Funeral Service by Gary S Silvat Inc., 3896 Oakwood Ave, Austintown, OH 44515. Funeral Service at 4:00 pm followed by Military Honors.
MSgt Edward Haywood Baker Jr. honorably served his country and retired from the United States Air Force. He will be buried in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Cecil Twp, Washington County, PA.
