Margaret Louise (Carter) Burden Bailey

On Friday March 14, 2025, Margaret Louise Bailey, age 98,  passed away at Austinwoods Nursing Center. She was born June 3, 1926 in Davis County, KY to Marion and Goldie (Evans) Carter.

Margaret dedicated many years to the nursing field and found great joy in serving the Lord. She was passionate about evangelizing and singing, sharing her faith and voice with those around her.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda M. Matson; sister, Wilma Finwick; daughter-in-law, Lenore Burden; fifteen grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James V. Burden Sr.; second husband, Elmer Baily; sisters Bell, Cova, Retha, Francis, and Evaline; brothers Eugene and Thomas; sons James V. Burden of Ravenna and Roger L. Burden of Wooster; daughter Linda D. Creb of West Salem; daughters-in-law Linda (Parker) Burden; son-in-laws Dennis Grimwood and Carl Dood Crebs; grandsons Travis Shearer and Charles L. Gartner; and great-grandson Tyler Gibson.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Rowsberg Cemetery on April 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. All are invited to join the family in honoring Margaret’s life.
