Maria Lynn Connolly

Maria Lynn Connolly, of Austintown, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the age of 64.

She was born on September 5, 1961, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Patrick Connolly and Rose Marie Connolly.

She was a lifelong resident of Austintown and attended Austintown Fitch High School. She was one of three children and was deeply rooted in the community she called home throughout her life.

During the late 90's and early 2000s, Maria proudly operated Connolly's Garden Center in Austintown, where she enjoyed serving the community and sharing her love of gardening. Later, she worked alongside her father in helping bring his vision of the Mahoning Valley 9/11 Memorial on Raccoon Road in Austintown to life. She was also a dedicated member of the Austintown Beautification Committee.

More than any accomplishment, Maria took the greatest pride in being a mother. She always wanted to be the very best mom anyone could ever ask for, and she poured her heart into making sure her son knew he was loved, supported, and encouraged every step of the way. The love she had for her family was unconditional and remained at the center of her life.

Maria was a devoted daughter. Above all, her mother, Rose Marie Connolly, was the center of her world. She was Maria's greatest source of love, strength, and comfort, and the bond they shared was one that words can scarcely describe. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved son, Christopher Connolly; her brothers, Robert (Mary) Connolly and Patrick Connolly Jr.; her nieces and nephews, Brittany Connolly, Ryan Connolly, Andrew Brewer, and Nicole Brewer; her aunts, Winnie Shimelonis and Dorothy Smallwood; her uncle, Bob (Sandy) Connolly; many cherished cousins; dear friend Dorothy Houdyshell; and her beloved dogs, Peppy and Copper, who faithfully remained by her side and brought her endless comfort and joy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Patrick Connolly; her aunt, Margaret Centofanti; her uncle, Leo Wilson; and her nephew, William Brewer Jr. as well as her good friend Lisa Oles.

Blessing Service will begin at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Cremation & Funeral Service by Gary S Silvat Inc, 3896 Oakwood ave, Austintown, OH 44515. Viewing and family to receive friends from 10:30 am until the service at 1:00 pm. Committal prayers and burial to immediate follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Austintown.

Although lung cancer ultimately claimed her life, it never defeated her spirit. Maria's courage, resilience, and unwavering love for her family remained evident until the very end, leaving behind a legacy that will endure in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
