Maria Valentin-Morales

On Wednesday July 28, 2021, Maria Valentin-Morales, age 80, of Lares, Puerto Rico, passed away. She was surrounded by her loving family in her last moments. She was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on December 24, 1940, to Basilisa Morales and Manuel Valentin.

Maria loved spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mama, and homemaker who took amazing care of her family. Her amazing smile and laughter would light up a room. She always made her grandchildren and great-grandchildren feel special and spoiled them all. Maria had a heart of gold and would give her last dime to help anyone. She was very present in the church and gave her life to God. Maria loved being at her home in Puerto Rico and loved taking pictures in front of the beautiful flower bushes in her yard. She loved visiting her family in Ohio and New York where her two children, Angel (Jeniene) Perez and Rose Perez-Williams, lived. Maria had six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Maria was recently predeceased by her son, Angel Perez, of Boardman, Ohio in May 2021, and her husband, Esteban Perez, of Lares, Puerto Rico in 2019. Maria had ten siblings and was predeceased by nine of them: her seven brothers, Daniel, Manuel, Felix, Pancho, Zenon, Jose and Luis, and her two sisters, Fela and Riqueta.

Maria is survived by her last sibling Dominica of New York City; her daughter, Rose (Gaby) Perez of Campbell, Ohio; her daughter-in-law, Jeniene Perez of Boardman, Ohio; her six grandchildren, Angela (Nico) Williams-Moody of Arizona, Daryl D. (Haley) Williams, Jr. of Niles, Ohio, Brandon Williams of Waddell, Arizona, Alexis (Stefan) Perez of Boardman Ohio, Nicole Perez and Angel Perez Jr. of Boardman, Ohio; and her five great-grandchildren, Jaedan Williams, Jiselle Moody, Julian Williams, Angelo Williams, and Nova Marie Russell.

The family would like to thank the staff of Masternick Memorial Healthcare Center in Middletown, Ohio for taking such great care of Maria. They would also like to thank the staff of the Akeso Home Health & Hospice along with the two nurses, Rita & Chrissy, who helped Maria in her last few months.

Public Viewing and Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, August 6, 2021, and to continue on Saturday from 9:00 am until time of Prayers at 10:00 am at Cremation & Funeral Service by Gary S. Silvat, Inc, 3896 Oakwood Ave., Austintown, OH 44515. Burial to immediately follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
