On Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Mary Frances Grover, age 84, of Boardman, died peacefully at home with family by her side. She was born in Youngstown, OH on October 25, 1940, to Albert J. and Josephine I. (Vernarski)) Smith.
Mary is survived by her children, Jodi (George) Tacey of Salem, Tessa Frenzel with whom she made her home, William (Gayle) Brose of Myrtle Beach, SC, Cynthia Dustman of Columbiana, OH, John (Brenda Stevens) Dustman of Lowellville, OH, and Michael (Margaret) Dustman of Youngstown, OH; grandchildren, Phillip Michael (Christina) VanDyke, Stephanie (Anthony) VanDyke, Cameron (Taylor) VanDyke, Jared Tacey, Bryon (Angel) Dustman, Brandon (Justina) Dustman, Bradley Dustman, Haley (Ryan) Burns, Matthew Dustman, and Sarah Dustman; great-grandchildren, Journee Rose VanDyke, Alana Renee VanDyke, Alexis, Raelynn, and Isaac Dustman; sister, Alberta (Albert) McAllister of Youngstown, OH and sister-in-law, Luann Smith.
Besides her parents and her late husband, John “Mike” Grover, whom she married in 1968, Mary was also preceded in death by her brother, James A. Smith; daughter-in-law, Cindy G. Dustman; and son-in-law, Kurt Frenzel.
Mary was an avid camper. She spent over thirty years at Lake Milton RV Resort, where she enjoyed cooking her BBQ ribs and wings, fishing, and pontoon rides with family and friends.
She also enjoyed bingo, bowling, Nascar, and watching and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes, but her favorite times were singing and playing with her great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mercy Health – Hospice of the Valley through Compassus for the kind, compassionate, and comforting care provided to Mary during her last few months. “The work the staff does is truly a gift and our family will always be grateful.”
