Melvin Charles Hetzler

On Monday, September 23, 2019, Melvin "Mel" Charles Hetlzler, age 77 of Youngstown, OH passed peacefully into God's care at Windsor House at Omni Manor.  He was born in Monaca, PA on March 7, 1942 to Melvin Arthur and Ettamae (Konvolinka) Hetzler.

Mel is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Chrystal "Crissy" (Johnson) Hetzler; mother-in-law, Peggy Fabian of Howland, brother and sisters-in-law, Sandy Quick of Howland, Shery Prescott of OK and Mike (Maria) Gleason of TX.

Besides his parents, Mel was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ann Hetzler; brother and sister-in-law, Allen Parker and Cindy Smith.

For over thirty years, Mel was a Counter Parts Associate for a local auto dealership.  He was a member of the Nash Rambler Club, Past President of the Niles Jaycees, as well as, a member and former Deacon at Beacon of Hope Baptist Church.  Mel was a CB and Ham radio enthusiast. he loved anything to do with Snoopy and the Peanuts Characters, miniature railroads, Nascar and being known for his frequent trips to the Landmark Restaurant.  He was the founder of Hetzler's Library which was in his Living Room.  Long before Mel passed away his wife, Crissy, was already a widow of sorts, especially when Mel watched his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers (Pirates and Penguins too) on TV.  She understood his love for the team and happily excepted her role as a football widow.  The door and walls of his room at Omni Manor were covered in Black and Gold!
