Morris fell asleep in death peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
He was born on August 4, 1932, in Eden, North Carolina, to Charlie and Ollie Ora Allen Thompson, the youngest of 10 children. At an early age, he moved to Farrell, Pennsylvania.
Morris graduated from Farrell High School in Farrell, Pennsylvania. He attended and graduated from Penn State University in State College, Pennsylvania with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology.
In 1993, Morris married Carrie P. Silas Johnson of Camilla, Georgia.
In March of 2008 Morris dedicated his life to his God, Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and enjoyed being part of the South Central Congregation in Youngstown, Ohio.
He initially worked at Westinghouse in Wheatland, Pennsylvania, eventually working and retiring from General Motors in Lordstown, Ohio after 30 years of service.
Morris was preceded in death by all of his siblings. He is also preceded in death by his son, Brian Thompson.
His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Carrie; his children, Adrian, Randall, and Karen Thompson; and Shelley Cromartie all of Sharon, Pennsylvania, and his three step-children; Shane of Columbus, Ohio, James (Scooby) and Marnie Johnson of Youngstown, Ohio.
He also leaves behind a cherished Aunt, Jessie Allen of Eden, North Carolina, several loved nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He also leaves sisters-in-law Dorothy Callaway (Camilla, Ga) Elizabeth Williams (Ernie) and Jean Laster (both of Atlanta, Ga), Tamaira Cunningham (Leesburg, Ga).
There will be a memorial service for Morris Thompson, Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 550 N. Four Mile Run Rd. Austintown
