Patricia “Pat/Patty” Lilley Burchfield, of Youngstown, peacefully passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Omni Manor in Youngstown, surrounded by her family. She was 80 years old and had been battling the complications of Alzheimer’s disease for over seven years.
Pat was born on July 26, 1945, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Albert P. and Lottie (Anderson) Lilley. She was one of eight children.
Pat was a devoted homemaker who also worked at various businesses, including Dinesol Plastics Inc, Niles Manufacturing, and The Golden Brush, where she expressed her love for crafts and painting. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, which was her greatest pride and joy.
She was a Christian woman who enjoyed attending church, reading her Bible, painting country landscapes, and taking bus trips to New York City. She loved going to casinos, thrift store shopping, playing cards and board games with family, completing large landscape puzzles, and baking Christmas cookies. She also looked forward to simple treats from Dunkin’, Dairy Queen, and Handel’s—little moments she truly savored.
Her favorite activity was spending one-on-one time with each of her grandchildren, making those moments together feel extra special and deeply meaningful.
Pat was very quick-witted and had a terrific sense of humor. She was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome. She will be remembered for her radiant smile, her quick wit, and the way her presence could turn even ordinary moments into something special. She found happiness in the simple moments—time spent with loved ones, laughter around the table, and the traditions she lovingly upheld through the years. She was always smiling, laughing, and doing her best to bring joy to those around her.
Pat is survived by her children, Jeremy McCarthy; Laurie (Paul) Lettau; Tammy (Greg) DeLeo; Christine (Mark) Wehr; Nancy (Sean) Garner; Charles (Betty) Burchfield IV; and Claudia (Bob) Reinhart.
She also leaves behind twenty-three grandchildren, Paul Lettau Jr., Joseph DeLeo, Celia DeLeo, Larry McWreath Jr., Kevin McWreath, Preston Wehr, Clayton Wehr, Tina Smith, Taylor Garner, Hayden Garner, Charles Burchfield V, Michael Burchfield, Grace Burchfield, Justin Burchfield, Mariah Mussalow, Eddie Wyant, Annastasha Pesa, Destiny McCarthy, Kristen Lawhorn, Dustin McCarthy, Mackenzie Hamilton, Cory Lambert, and Curtis Lambert; along with twenty-six great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two brothers, William and Rick Lilley; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Curtis and Kirk Arnold, who were also like brothers to her. She leaves behind her dear friends, Dawn Manley and Carol Gross, as well as two former daughters-in-law, Denise Benton and Jennifer Morris, who remained close and cherished members of her life.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Burchfield III; a granddaughter, Joella Rummel; a brother, Albert “Sonny” Lilley; and sisters, Betty Beal, Alberta Pritts, Bonita “Bonnie” Mitchell, and Donna Faye-Falco. She was also preceded in death by an aunt and uncle, Lucy and Sam Slater, and cousins, June and Bud Arnold, who helped raise her.
There will be no calling hours or traditional funeral. A Celebration of Life event will be held at a later date. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that “acts of kindness” be done in Pat’s memory—a reflection of the way she lived each day.
