Paula Jo Vielberth

On Friday, May 16, 2025, Paula Jo Vielberth passed away at Mercy Health - Boardman. She was born in September 9, 1949 in Youngstown OH to George and Irene Vivacqua.

A graduate of Ursuline High School, Paula went on to earn a nursing degree, reflecting her commitment to caring for others. Her professional life also included a successful career in real estate, where she worked as a realtor both in the United States and across Africa. Her work mirrored her adventurous spirit and ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.

In 1985, while in Florida, Paula met Gerhard F. Vielberth, the man who would become her devoted husband. Their relationship was built on mutual respect and a shared love of exploration. In 1987, they began a remarkable 25-year journey traveling extensively throughout Europe and Africa before eventually settling back in Ohio.

Paula found joy in life’s simple pleasures—sharing dinners and playing card games with friends were among her favorite pastimes. She also had a deep affection for her dogs, Pepper and Sugar, who were cherished companions in her later years.

She is survived by her husband, Gerhard F. Vielberth, and many friends she met along her travels. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Paula will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched. Her independent spirit and zest for life leave a lasting legacy.
