Regina M. "Gina" Maus, of Austintown, OH, passed away on May 16, 2025, in Boardman, OH. Born in Youngstown, OH on December 23, 1963, and raised in Girard, Gina spent most of her life in Austintown, where she touched countless lives with her boundless compassion and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Gina was known for her selflessness and giving spirit—qualities that defined every aspect of her life. Her greatest joy came from being present for her children: Lacey, Holly, and Dezarae Goodwin. Nothing mattered more to her than their happiness and well-being. She also cherished her role as a grandmother to Austin, Jacob, Gianna, and Avani, who brought light and laughter into her life.
For over two decades, Gina shared a deep and enduring bond with her partner Rick "Papa" Zubil, whose steadfast presence was a source of strength and comfort throughout the years. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother Michael; her special cousins Jackie, Judy, and Maria, and her aunt Rosey. Her beloved dog Baby held a special place in her heart and is now reunited with her.
Professionally, Gina dedicated herself to caring for others through her work at First Light Home Care. Her career was a reflection of who she was at heart—an angel on earth who gave without hesitation or expectation.
Outside of work, Gina found joy in simple pleasures: cooking out with the kids, watching birds and squirrels from the window, and surrounding herself with animals she adored. Her sweet yet ornery personality endeared her to everyone she met—those who knew her couldn’t help but love her.
Gina was preceded in death by her mother Mary Hurd; stepfather Skip Hurd; aunt Margie Gaetano; grandparents Ida and Joe Falletti; and Baby.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Amanda for stepping in with care during Gina’s illness when others were unable due to work obligations.
Gina's absence leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved her. May their memories of Gina bring comfort in the days ahead. She will be so very missed.
