Richard Howard Dangerfield

On Sunday, May 31, 2026, Richard Howard Dangerfield, age 89, passed away at Windsor House in Champion, OH. He was born July 7, 1936, in Youngstown, OH, to Raymond Benjamin and Gertrude Maude (Collingwood) Dangerfield.

Richard was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, enjoyed playing bingo, card games, and fishing, and had a particular fondness for NASCAR, chocolate ice cream, and hot chocolate.

Richard's memory will be cherished by his daughters, Lori (Jerry) Popielec, Kelly (Mark) Kesterke, and Kendra (Randy Golembowski) Twyford. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Timothy A. (Sandi) Bowell, Duane A. Bowell, Jr., Dominic A. (Nadine) Bowell, Andrew M. (Makenzie) Bowell, Kayla (Stephen) Castillo, Monica L. Hayes, Benjamin J. Kesterke, James M. Kesterke, Ashley Randall, Cameron Twyford, Corey Twyford, Chadd Twyford, and Christopher Twyford; great-grandchildren, Luke, Liam, Lochlan, Devon, Maximus, Cooper, Carter, and Kenton Bowell, Madelynn Hayes, Piper Schmitz, Catherine, Miya, and Mariah Johnson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife of  44 years, Sandra (Packner) Dangerfield; son, Richard H. Dangerfield, Jr.; grandson, Robert Randall; brothers and sisters-in-law, David (Virginia), Gene (Mildred), Joseph (Shirley), and Tracey (Betty) Dangerfield; brother-in-law, Walter Packner (Nora); and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Hahn.

Richard's life was marked by his warm spirit and the close relationships he nurtured with family and friends. Those who knew him will remember his kind heart and the joy he brought to their lives.
