Richard Dolan Obituary

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, Richard Arnold Dolan, age 71, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away at his home. He was born February 20, 1953, in Youngstown to James A. and Anna (Duda) Dolan.  

A graduate of Campbell Memorial High School in 1971, Richard went on to earn a master’s degree in education from Youngstown State University. He dedicated his career to teaching in the Youngstown City Schools, where he made a lasting impact on countless students.  

Beyond his profession, Richard had a deep love for swing music and was affectionately known as "Dr. Swing." He also enjoyed golfing and playing poker, passions that brought him joy throughout his life.  

He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Dolan of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his former wife, Adele (Lillo) Dolan; brothers, Mark (Nikki) Dolan and Robert (Carol) Dolan; sisters, Frances Taylor, Kathy (Walter) Kupiec, and Norma (Mike) Tsikouris; as well as 13 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick Dolan; sister, Jackie Pavlic; and brother-in-law, James Taylor.  

Richard will be remembered for his kind and outgoing nature. His presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him. A special thank you is extended to his neighbor Geniene Hankey and her family for their kindness and support over the years.
