Richard Arlan Greathouse Jr

On Sunday, December 21, 2025, Richard "Rick" Arlan Greathouse Jr., age 58, passed away at Mercy Health-Youngstown. He was born January 16, 1967, in Youngstown, OH, to Richard Arlan and Bertha Elizabeth (Stuckey) Greathouse Sr.

Rick was a lifelong resident of Youngstown and was known to his family and friends as hardheaded, but loyal, and always looking for a laugh, especially if it involved you. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and playing darts with friends. As time went on, he continued to embrace the outdoors through camping trips and games of catch with his children.

A devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes, Rick shared his passion for football with his children, cherishing every game they watched together. He valued hard work and could always be counted on when someone needed a hand.

Rick is fondly remembered by his children: Sara Greathouse of Pace, FL, and Alec Greathouse of Youngstown, OH; brother, Don Greathouse; sisters Cindy (Mark) Campbell, Shelly Greathouse-Heck, and Sherry Greathouse; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Greathouse, and his sister Charlene.

Rick’s memory lives on in the hearts of those who truly knew and loved him. May his legacy bring comfort and strength to all who mourn his passing.
