On Saturday, March 15, 2025, Richard Logan Saxton, age 74, of Townville PA, passed away peacefully at his residence in Boardman OH. He was born March 4, 1951 in Meadville PA to Alvin and Norma (Davenport) Saxton.
Richard was a graduate of Townville High School, Class of 1970. He dedicated 42 years to a career as a truck driver before retiring in December 2016. Even after retirement, he continued working as a school bus driver until 2020.
Richard had a passion for life and enjoyed spending time with his beloved puppies. He found joy in riding his Valkyrie motorcycle, Honda scooter, 1928 Model A, and Mustang golf cart. His hobbies included flying RC planes and operating electric trucks and cars. He also loved snowmobiling, riding four-wheelers, go-karting, and going to races.
He is survived by his mother, Norma Saxton; his wife, Joan Saxton; and his four children: Jason (Christy) Saxton, Jeremiah Saxton, Benjamin (Libby) Saxton, and Heather Jean Saxton. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren—Mathew, Michael, Taylor, Cerine, Destinee, Kai, Eva Jean, Susan, and Sydney—as well as one great-granddaughter, Peyshince. Richard will be deeply missed by many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Saxton; his brother, David Saxton; and his grandparents, Corda and Bert Davenport.
Richard’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
