Richard Smith

Unexpectedly, on Saturday, August 29, 2020, Richard Smith, age 50, of New Castle, PA passed away to be with our Lord and Savior.  He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 13, 1970 to late Howard Smith and the late Elanore Jay.

He  married the former Terri Peer in 1998, who preceded him in death in 2019.  

Although, Richard struggled  with Sickle Cell Anemia throughout his life, his cheeky personality could light up a room with smiles and laughs. Richard enjoyed and loved spending time with his family, playing video games, watching the “Price Is Right” and “Classic Movies”.

He is survived by his twin brother, Howard Smith; nieces Bria Adams, Brooklyn Smith, Korea Mayfield-Smith, Amya Twymon-Smith; Aunts, Claudia Nevels, Carol Watson, Rhonda Smith who he loved as a mother, Frederica Bell, Tina Cooper-Woody, Jetta Cooper; great aunt  Emma Bouy’e; uncle, Frederick Jay; great uncle, William Bouy’e; and a host of cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; baby sister, Lesha; brother, Charles Summers; aunt, Silvia Hammond-Bucklin; cousin, David Bell.

A private memorial service will be held at St. John United Holy Church.
