Lt. Richard Lee “Dick” Bullen, age 84, was called home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2026. Born March 19, 1941, Richard was the son of Marjorie (Gangwere) Bullen and Leroy Bullen and eventually his stepmother, Evelyn (Dominic) Bullen.
Known to family and friends as “Dick,” he lived a life firmly rooted in faith, service, and love. Dick shared sixty-four blessed years of marriage with his devoted wife, Marjorie. Together they created a legacy of family and faith.
A 1960 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, Dick continued his education at Youngstown State University and Plumbing Trade School.
He proudly served the Austintown Police Department for twenty-nine years (1963–1992), protecting his community with integrity and strength. Dick also taught firearms training at Youngstown State University. His love for shooting, his discipline and his marksmanship earned him recognition as the Governor’s Top Shooter multiple times. Dick was also a journeyman plumber with Local Union 87 Plumbers and Steamfitters.
More than any title or accomplishment, Dick was a man of God. He was a proud and faithful member of Shiloh Full Gospel Church in Girard, Ohio. His love for the Lord was evident in the way he lived — steady, humble, and guided by Scripture. He believed deeply in salvation and lived his life as a witness to that.
Dick was preceded in death by his son, Richard Lee Bullen, Jr. and sister, Evelyn Moore.
Besides his beloved wife, Dick is survived by his children, Cissy (Chuck) Hosey, Rev. William (Ingrid) Bullen, and Debbie (Jeff) Friend; siblings, Danny Bullen and Carol (Frank) Lucurell of Austintown; along with thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Family to receive friends from 4:00pm until the time of Dick’s Memorial Service at 5:30pm on Monday, January 19, 2026, in Shiloh Full Gospel Church, 1310 Shannon Rd, Girard, Ohio 44420. Fellowship and the breaking of bread will immediately follow the service.
Flowers and donations may be sent to Marjorie through Shiloh Full Gospel Church.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23 Dick’s race was run with faith, his life a testimony to God’s grace, and his legacy one of love and devotion to the Lord.
