Richard "Rick" Charles Young

On Wednesday, November 27, 2024 Richard (Rick) Young, age 72, of Mineral Ridge, OH passed away at Briarfield Manor, Austintown OH. He was born on January 10, 1952, in Youngstown OH, the son of Elmer and Muriel (Hess) Young.

Rick was a 1970 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and brother and loved spending time with his family and friends, as well as watching golf, football, and all other sports on TV. Rick was an avid golfer and you could always find him on his lawn mower during summer. He also loved going to the beach while living in Ft. Lauderdale and visiting Punta Cana several times.

Rick was a long-time local musician in the area, playing with Special Forces (25+ years), The Michael Austin Project, Leanne Binder, Micki Lynn and Maskarade, and Nothin from Nothin, along with a few other bands, including his first band out of high school, Tenderbutt. He also worked as a security guard at V&M Star in Girard and Dean’s Outdoor Power Equipment in Niles, OH.

Rick is survived by his two sons, Stephen and Nicholas Young, his granddaughter, Riley Young, and his sister Judy Young.

Rick will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A memorial service will be planned for next Summer, honoring Rick at our 46th Annual Corn Roast.
