Robert “Bo” Mitchell, age 75, of Hubbard, OH, transitioned peacefully on May 2, 2025, after a courageous battle with prostate cancer. He was born in Youngstown, OH on January 6, 1950, to Richard Ernest and Margaret Ann Mitchell.
Bo is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Eileen Mitchell; his son, Leif (Will Lawson, Rich Stanley) Mitchell, all of Boston, MA; stepson, Aaron Jackimowicz of Chicago, IL; siblings, Denny (Julie) Mitchell, James Mitchell, Mary Beth (Russ) Lamping, Meg McKelvey, Katie (Joe) Wise, John (Tammy Cook) Mitchell, Patricia Garchar, Tom (Kelley) Mitchell, and a very large extended family. Besides his parents, Bo was preceded in death by his son, Ian; brother, Breen; and sister-in-law, Coni Mitchell.
Bo attended St. Edwards until 9th grade and graduated from Ursuline High School in 1968. He enlisted and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was stationed in Panama prior to his discharge.
Professionally, he worked at Fazio’s Grocery Store, was a truck driver for Pepsi, and did commercial and private painting with his brothers, John and Breen. He and his wife owned and operated “Lucky’s” convenience store in Hubbard for many years. Before retiring, he managed Dollar General stores throughout the area.
Bo met Eileen in 1990, and they lived together in Hubbard since 1992 where they enjoyed taking care of their beautiful home, flower, and vegetable gardens. Bo was an avid animal lover his entire life and enjoyed the company of many beloved cats and dogs. Bo enjoyed golf, bocce, was a die-hard fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Guardians, The Beatles, and John Lennon.
The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Manor, Hospice of the Valley and Hospice House for the care and compassion shown to Bo and his family during his illness.
