Robert Joseph "Butchie" Repko Jr

On Saturday, July 4, 2026, Robert Joseph Repko Jr., age 69, went to his final resting place in heaven, where he will find comfort and peace. He was born May 3, 1957, in Youngstown, OH, to Robert Joseph and Louise Helen (Marmilich) Repko.

A proud graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, Robert embarked on a life filled with hard work and dedication. He was employed at the Sony Television Plant in Pittsburgh, PA, until its closure and held various positions throughout his career before retiring.

Robert cherished his Croatian heritage deeply. From the young age of 13 until he was 16, he played with OD SRCE and continued to share his musical talents throughout his life. A gifted prim player, Robert collaborated with numerous musicians over the years, including his uncles Joe Marmilich and Steve Markulin; Mo Brajak and Steve Brajak; as well as Mike Pozcqa and Paul Adamnovich. His passion for music took him across the United States, Canada, and Croatia. Among his many accomplishments was recording music alongside Steve Markulin, Mo Brajak, and Mike Pozcqa. Renowned for his skill and artistry, Robert was considered one of the best in his field—second only to Marko Popovich from Chicago.

Robert will be greatly missed by those who knew him. He is survived by his mother, Louise Repko; his sister Deborah (Gary) Harris of Poland, OH; nephews Gary (Chol) Harris Jr. of North Carolina and Brian (Melinda) Harris of Hudson, OH; nieces Grace, Nora, and Olivia; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Repko, and grandparents.

In accordance with Robert's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery in Lowellville, OH.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
