With great sorrow, we announce that on Thursday, July 2, 2020, Robert “Bob” M. Wire, age 63, peacefully passed away at home. He was a great man, husband, father and grandfather. He was born November 6, 1956 in Youngstown, Ohio.
Bob will be deeply missed and will always be remembered by his beloved wife, Lisa (Elder) Wire of Youngstown; children, Rob Wire of Pittsburgh, Cassie (RJ) Herchik of Elgin, SC; grandchildren, Paige Elizabeth Herchik of Elgin, SC, Sophie, Cooper Wire of Brookpark, OH; mother-in-law, Bonnie Kemp of Boardman, Ohio; sister-in-law, Lori (Ron) Campana of Boardman, Ohio, brother-in-law, Dave (Shira) Elder of Columbus, Ohio; niece, Natalie, Kelly, Macey; nephew, Carlin and last, but not least, his beloved dog, Cupcake.
Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shenney & Peg Carr and Papa Al.
Bob was a 1974 graduate of The Rayen High School and honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1974 - 1976.
Bob was of the protestant faith and on September 27, 1980, Bob married the love of his life, his life-partner, Lisa Elder. This September they would have celebrated forty blessed years of marriage.
In October 2000, the City of Youngstown hired Bob as mechanic for the Youngstown Street Department. He retired 2017.
When Bob was a young man, he had several Hot Rods but remained a car and motorcycle enthusiast throughout his life. He was also very particular about all his vehicles, never seeing a dirty, “Bob car.” That meticulous nature could also be seen in his yard, making sure it was perfect. Strangers passing by would stop and comment daily on how beautiful his yard looked. For the holidays, he decorated it with colorful lights, inflatables and or any other decoration for everyone to enjoy.
Bob also enjoyed skiing and cruising the lakes on his boat. He had a golf cart that he would ride around the neighborhood and Mill Creek Park. Sometimes, he even took it to Geneva on the Lake just to cruise the stripe, watch the boats and crowds of people walking about and at times a country ride or swimming in his pool was relaxing enough.
No public services will be observed. The Wire Family will hold a private family memorial.
