On Sunday, June 23, 2024, Rodney Glen Hughes, of Youngstown, OH passed away at Select Specialty Hospital in Youngstown, surrounded by family. He was born December 28, 1959, in Warren, OH to Sank Turner and Blondie (Hughes) Turner.
Rodney spent much of his career as a welder. When not working, he loved cooking, enjoying the relaxation of fishing, and being around his family
Rodney was one of THE biggest Parliament-Funkadelic enthusiasts you could ever encounter!
He is survived by his siblings, Pam Oliver, Bruce Hughes, and Kimberly Hughes, all of Youngstown OH, as well as Corey (Lakisha) Turner of McDonald OH; two nieces, Lauren Shannon of Wisconsin and Courtney Hughes of Sagamore Hills; two great-nephews, Xavier Shannon and Mathias Shannon of Wisconsin.
Besides his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his sister, Jill Hughes.
At Rodney’s request there will be no public services and a private family service will be held.
