On Sunday, April 12, 2026, Ronald Neil Pearson, age 70, of Poland, OH, passed away at Mercy Health, Boardman, OH. He was born May 22, 1955, in Los Angeles, California, to Robert and Joyce (Halprin) Pearson. Ronald is survived by his brother, Jerry Pearson of Chattaroy, WA. Besides his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his sister Stephanie.
He was a devoted sports fan, but especially a huge baseball fan – Go Dodgers! - having both played the game at a very high level, and coached 14–18-year-olds in a traveling baseball team. He was an avid player of Strat Baseball, both on-line and in person tournaments, and made life-long friends. He served in the Navy and spent years training thoroughbred racehorses.
He was known for his kindness, and especially his humor (he loved to laugh!).
He introduced the kids he coached to Abbott and Costello’s “Who’s on First”, and he was always there when they reached out and needed advice. Many of these teens, now young adults, have maintained close contact with him over the years. He had the ability to make everyone’s day brighter with just a phone call or text. He loved his friends and had many of them. He will be profoundly missed.
