On Thursday, March 27, 2025, Ronnell George Fort Sr., age 54, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away in Youngstown. He was born on August 7, 1970, the son of Roger L. Fort and Arletha M. (Gindratt) Fort.
A 1988 graduate of South High School, Ronnell went on to serve in the United States Navy. Throughout his career, he held various positions, most recently working as a strike worker coordinator.
Ronnell was a devoted follower of the Kemetic faith and embraced his royal name, King Rah El. A lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he proudly wore black and gold throughout the year.
He was a national founder of the Joker’s Wrath Motorcycle Club (Columbus Chapter) and played an instrumental role in establishing a chapter in Youngstown - known for his motto “Laugh Now, Cry Later." Ronnell brought joy to many through cookouts and gatherings with friends and family. He also had a distinctive passion for breeding snakes, American Bulldogs, and Cane Corsos.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Arletha M. Fort of Youngstown; sons, Ronnell G. Fort Jr. and Walter L. Fort, both of Youngstown; and numerous siblings: Rodney Fort (Youngstown), Roger Fort (Columbus), Anthony Pruden (Youngstown), Geneva (Gerald) Fort-Payne (Columbus), Shirlene (Sidney) Hill (Youngstown), Lillian (Michael) Deville (Youngstown), Arletha Moton (Youngstown), Derrick Cately (Florida), Dante Cately (Florida), Dejanne Gooden (Detroit), Tami (William) Strickland (Columbus), Crystal Thomas (Florida), Larry Thomas (Florida), Diane Clark (Youngstown), Michael Wilkins (Youngstown), Robert Akryte Stewart (Columbus), Michael Davis (Youngstown), B.J. (Youngstown), Mercedes Faircloth (Youngstown), and Frances Gray (Youngstown). He is also remembered by his cousin, Sean Patterson of Columbus, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger L. Fort ; grandparents Joseph and Willa Mae Gindratt and Roger and Geneva Fort; siblings Michelle Fort, David Fort, Gwendolyn John, Rebecca Martin, Richard Pruden; fiancée Rosalind Givens; and daughter Jasmine Givens.
A memorial service will be held on April 19, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Youngstown Event Center, 12 E. Dewey Avenue, Youngstown, OH 44507. In honor of Ronnell’s love for his team, attendees are encouraged to wear Pittsburgh Steelers attire or black and gold colors.
