On Monday, July 13, 2026, Ronnie Eugene Woodruff, age 61, of Youngstown, OH, passed away at Mercy Health-Youngstown. He was born on March 12, 1965, in Kansas City, KS, to Ollie Andrew Woodruff and Pauline McKay Gregory.
Ronnie made his living with his hands, spending his years as a painter for a number of companies, including Style Painting and S&W Fencing, among others. But it was his way with people that everyone remembers. He never met a stranger — he could strike up a conversation with anyone and walk away with a new friend. He had a big, generous heart, and he gave of it freely.
Like many of us, Ronnie faced hard seasons in his life, and there were years when he lost his way. But he never stopped fighting to find it again, and in the end he did. The man his family knew in his final years was a truly good one — kind, warm, and trying his hardest every single day. His sons want the world to know how hard he tried, and how proud they are of the man he became.
He is survived by his three sons: Matthew and his wife, Mariah; David; and Brandon and his wife, Amber. He was a proud grandfather to his eight grandchildren — Aalyah, Kaithan, Briella, Liam, Owen, Jaden, Annabelle, and Cherie — who were the light of his life.
Ronnie is also lovingly remembered by Kimberly, with whom he shared sixteen years, and by Carol, his partner of seventeen years, along with her daughters, Tara and Amanda, and their children, Day Janae, Joshua, and Sunny — all of whom held a cherished place in his heart; as well as by his siblings Patrisha, Johnny, Glenn, and Norma.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Rita and Larry, whom he now joins in eternal rest.
May Ronnie’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
