Ruth Marie (Ellis) Greco

On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, Ruth Marie Greco, 95, of Boardman, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her home. She was born on February 13, 1931, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Stephen and Susan Ellis.

Ruth married the love of her life, Raymond “Ray” Greco, on September 8, 1951. Though Ray preceded her in death in 2021, their legacy and love live on through their family: daughters, Suzanne Sowinski of Gold Canyon, Arizona; Sharon (the late Jerry) Arnal of Boardman, Ohio; and Renee (Brian) McKim of New Middletown, Ohio. She was a devoted grandmother to Nicole (Andrew) Zenti, Raymond (Jenna) Buhala, Brooke (Seth) Runser, Dana (Dante) DiRienzo, Sarah McKim, Sean McKim, and Samantha McKim, and a loving great-grandmother to Erica, Mia, Cayden, Brantley, Ray, Dylan, Addison, Dominic, and Daniella. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia (William) Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her siblings, Helen Hucko, Mary Skebo, Richard Ellis, Robert Ellis, and Eleanor Wardle.

Ruth cherished time with her family above all else. She enjoyed bowling, boating on Lake Milton, shopping, and celebrating her Slovak heritage. As a proud Chaney Cowboy alumna and longtime employee of Macy’s, she valued the lifelong friendships she formed over the years. She carried herself with quiet elegance and grace and was known for her warm, uplifting spirit that could brighten any room she entered.

Ruth will be remembered for her unwavering love, her strength, and the deep devotion she had for her family. She will be dearly missed and forever in their hearts.

A Memorial Mass celebrating Ruth’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman.
