Samuel Wendell Kriebel Jr

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, Samuel "Sam" Wendell Kriebel Jr., age 76, of Austintown, OH, passed away at home surrounded by family. He was born February 17, 1950, in Clarion County, PA, to Samuel and E. Louise (Crissman) Kriebel.  

Samuel dedicated 30 years of his life to General Motors before retiring in 1998 at the young age of 48. Known as a jack of all trades, he had an exceptional ability to fix or build anything. He also enjoyed spending time in Florida, creating cherished memories.  

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen "Kathy" (Shoup) Kriebel, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage after their union on February 17, 1968. Samuel leaves behind three children: Bob (Harmony) Kriebel , Sam Kriebel III, and Lisa (Bill) Maxwell; seven grandchildren: Chelsea (Eddie) Muransky, Lindsay (Alex) Sanchez, Brianna Kriebel, Allen Kriebel, Sammy Kriebel IV, Jacob Maxwell, and Katelyn Maxwell; and three great-grandchildren: Paul Muransky, James Muransky, and Leila Sanchez. He is also survived by his sisters Minnie Wylam, Sandy (Jul) Tofil, and Debbie (Chuck) Wilkinson; two brothers Kevin (Jeri) Kriebel and Jeff (Joni) Kriebel; brother in law, Ken Tate; as well as many nieces and nephews.  

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Louise Kriebel; his brother Dennis; and his sister Jackie.  

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice House by Compassus for their compassionate care during this time.  

Per Samuel's wishes, there will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Hospice of the Valley Hospice House by Compassus or Dementia Society of America.
