On Saturday, April 25, 2026, Samuel John Petrosky, age 85, of Austintown, OH, passed away at Adventura Humility House. He was born September 22, 1940, in Youngstown, OH, to Nicholas and Rose (Capuzello) Petrosky.
If you asked John how he was on any given day, his answer would be the same every time: "Just fine and dandy like Amos and Andy".
John was what they called a “Jack of All Trades.” Throughout the years, he owned his own catering business (The Aristocrat), a carpet business (Carpet Renaissance), a car lot (Reliable Auto Sales), and his most favorite of all was his restaurant (Paisano’s), where he served Lordstown Motors employees lunch. He was famous for his homemade ravioli and huge hot sausage sandwiches.
At the nursing home, he loved to play bingo, color masterpieces, sing karaoke, play 500 Rummy, and listen and sing along to live entertainment, often dancing to the music. Everyone knew and loved John and his fun sense of humor. He had a new joke every time you saw him and endless stories to tell.
John was one of six children and leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved former-wife and caregiver, Tammi Ronci; his children, Tammy Petrosky of Grandville, OH; Nicki (Joe) Beil; Vivian (Matthew) Dickerhoof, both of Austintown, OH; Ryan (Rachelle) Petrosky of Mineral Ridge, OH; and a stepson, James Catheline Jr. of Lowellville, OH. He also leaves one brother, Tom Petrosky of Austintown, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his beloved dogs, Zoey and Phoebe.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister, and two sons, Samuel "John" Petrosky II and Bradley Ronci.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aventura, where John would hand out pennies to the nurses and tell them they would never have to work again because each penny was worth a million dollars.
There are no calling hours, as John wished to be cremated and laid to rest with his mother and brothers at a later date.
