Stephen Muzer Obituary

On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, Stephen Muzer passed away peacefully at his home after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on May 9th . Stephen was born June 1, 1946, a son of Stephen Muzer, Sr. and Theresa Sees in Sharon PA.

Stephen was raised in Sharon, PA and Youngstown, OH where he graduated from Ursuline High School in 1965. He proudly served 3 years in the US Army where he served a tour in Vietnam and was honorably discharged. Steve was employed with General Motors from 1969 to 2006 in the car plant, fab plant and maintenance department, where he met his good buddy Mack and wife Sally who he loved like a brother/sister.

Steve was a quiet guy, but he had touched so many people with his amazing smile, good heart, generosity, and all-around presence. He enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies Dale and Bill, walking the trail at Mill Creek Park, rooting for his Steelers and Buckeyes, and playing his lottery numbers at Fast Trac (Adam, George), and spending time with grandchildren Emily and Zach.

Steve leaves behind his son and best friend, Brian Muzer, at home in Canfield and daughter, Marlene(Rob) Carter of Salem. He is also survived by a brother, Albert (Tricia)Huzicka of Lake Milton Ohio; sisters, Gerry Williams of St Petersburg, FL , Kathy (John) Deley of Mineral Ridge, OH,  Teri Ridel of Maryland, and Nancy (Kevin) Crebs of South Lake Tahoe, CA. Steve was a grandpa to Miss Emily Carter and Zachary Carter of Salem, OH. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews ( Tyler, Spenser,  Allegra, Mason , Christopher and Madison).

Steve was predeceased by his wife, Colleen Audrey Bodzak who passed away March 25, 2004; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sees, who were instrumental role models in his teen years. Steve loved them dearly as a kid working on their farm.

To honor the wishes of Steve because he was a quiet private person there will be no services. A private family celebration of his life will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank Hospice for doing an amazing job responding so quickly and being attentive to his needs and comfort.

Steve will be missed immensely by his children Brian and Marlene, his brother and sisters, friends, his loving cousins, and especially Brian who simply thought of him as his hero and best friend .
