Steve Allen Davenport

On Monday, April 7, 2025, Steve Allen Davenport, age 73, of Youngstown OH, passed away at his residence. He was born on October 31, 1951, in Peru, Indiana, to Robert and Reba (Sliger) Davenport.

Steve's family moved to the area when he was a young child, and he later graduated from South Range High School. It was during his early working years at Arthur Treacher’s that he met the love of his life, Margaret Leone. Their memorable beginning—he fired her before eventually marrying her—led to a devoted partnership that began on July 30, 1977.

Steve spent ten years working for Youngstown Welding before pursuing his passion full-time by taking over his brother Gary's business, Vehicle Customizing Service. Through this venture, he brought his love for cars to life, specializing in pinstriping and aftermarket work. His creativity and dedication were evident in every project he touched.

Outside of work, Steve enjoyed remodeling projects, riding his motorcycle, and playing Solitaire on his iPad. These simple pleasures reflected his appreciation for both craftsmanship and quiet moments.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret; their children, Christopher Davenport and Samantha Davenport; brothers Don (Paula) Davenport of Mansfield, Ohio; Robert Davenport of Struthers, Ohio; and Gary (Becky) Davenport of Austintown, Ohio; sister Becky (Don) Zimmerman of Manassas, Virginia; ten nieces and nephews; a great-niece and great-nephew; and former sister-in-law Terry Donahue.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sister-in-law Linda Davenport.

Steve’s legacy lives on through the memories shared by those who knew him best. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
