Susan Micco Obituary

On Friday, July 17, 2026, Susan Micco, age 64, of Slippery Rock Twp, PA, passed away unexpectedly at UPMC Jameson Hospital after suffering a medical emergency. She was born in New Castle, PA, on October 10, 1961, to Donald Edward Clyde and Shirley Ann (Stickle) Brenneman.

Susan graduated from Laurel High School and dedicated many years of service to the City of New Castle before leaving her career to care for her family, a role she embraced with unwavering love and devotion.

Susan was happiest when she was creating, cooking, or caring for those she loved. She had a passion for cooking and baking and was rarely happier than when she was preparing a meal to share with family and friends. A true homemaker at heart, Susan enjoyed gardening, canning, dehydrating foods, and making handcrafted decorations and projects for her home. She believed in doing things herself and took pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. She also loved spending time outdoors, whether boating with friends, enjoying picnics and cookouts, swimming, or simply spending time outside. Susan appreciated life's simple pleasures. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Susan will be remembered for her strong spirit and unmistakable personality. She was fiercely independent, feisty, and never afraid to speak her mind. If Susan had something to say, she said it honestly and without hesitation. Beneath that strong exterior was a deeply caring woman who loved her family wholeheartedly and would do anything for the people she loved.

Susan is lovingly remembered by her children, Joshua C. Clyde (Racheal), Nicola A. Micco (Samantha Stoner), and Monica L. Zook; her cherished grandchildren, Camden E. Zook, Colton A. Zook, and Nika A. Micco; sister, GiGi Sabruno of Denver, Colorado along with extended family members, lifelong friends, and all those whose lives were touched by her strength, kindness, and love.

Besides her parents, Susan was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman O. Micco; daughter, Kaitlyn C. Micco; and stepfather, Roland Brenneman.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

In true fashion of Susan's selfless dedication, she gifted others through organ donation with CORE, the Center for Organ Recovery and Education.
