Suzanne (McConnell) Smith

On Monday, November 11, 2025, Suzanne McConnell Smith, age 91, of Greenville, PA, passed away from complications of dementia. 

Born at home in Greenville, PA, on August 12, 1934, Suzanne was the youngest of six children of Robert and Mabel (Ramsey) McConnell and the last surviving sibling. She graduated from Penn High School in 1953, where she was a majorette.

Suzanne worked at Streamline Market, where she met her devoted husband of 57 years, Robert Smith. Throughout her long illness with dementia, Robert lovingly cared for her. A lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Greenville, Suzanne was also active in the former Ladies Auxiliary of Greenville Hospital.

Along with her husband, she found joy in nature and gardening and enjoyed ice skating, card club gatherings, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Her laughter and love of games brought warmth to those around her.

Suzanne is survived by her husband, Robert; her son Stuart and his wife Katlen; her granddaughter Neva; and her stepdaughter Valerie and her wife Dawn.
