There are no words big enough to capture the life of my mother, Suzette Marie Bagnoli, who passed into eternal life on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the age of sixty-eight. She fought so hard but ultimately passed due to complications from a procedure while trying to beat a cancer diagnosis that she received in February of 2025.
Sue was born in Alliance, Ohio on April 12, 1957, to Ralph Weaver and Patricia (Toalston) Weaver Wright. Their family moved to Austintown, Ohio where she went to school, married, and created a family of her own. She was a 1975 graduate of Fitch High School.
Suzie was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Alyssa and Gia. The only thing she was prouder of than being a mother was being a grandmother. She was the best Grammie to her three grandchildren. She cherished her granddaughters, Makayla and Stevie. Her grandson Luka had given her a fresh look at love, having raised two daughters, and she was wrapped around his little finger. Grammie always kept goodies in her purse for her grandbabies and never showed up without a treat for her favorite people.
Sue was an avid beach lover and would spend sunup until sundown in a beach chair with her toes in the sand. She would also typically pay for it the next day with a wicked sunburn. Family vacations were her favorite family tradition, and many memories have been made over her lifetime somewhere by the beach. Especially Ocean Isle beach in North Carolina.
Besides her parents, Sue was also preceded in death by sister, Cynthia Brady, and husbands, Gary Webb and Steven J. Bagnoli.
Suzette is surviving in the hearts of her daughters, Alyssa (Dwayne Hettinger) Webb, Gia (Daniel “Rocky” Brown) Bagnoli Brown; grandchildren, Makayla Brown, Stevie Brown, Luka Brown; siblings, Donald Weaver, Merrily Carroll, a lifelong friendship with whom we lovingly called the “Neff Clan” which is made up of many generations of the Neff family; mother-in-law, Teresa DeCapua, and many other extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held this summer to remember Sues' life. Details will be announced in the coming months after they are finalized.
A special thank you to the SICU team at Mercy Health downtown who worked diligently for the two months that she fought to stay with us. Their compassion and dedication to not only caring for my mother, but my family and I as well, are unmatched.
