Thomas Geidner Obituary

On Friday, February 22, 2025, Thomas Frederick Geidner, age 82, passed away. He was born in Youngstown, OH, on January 26, 1943, to Joseph Andrew and Virginia Mary (Holmes) Geidner. Tom grew up, attended Poland Local Schools, and spent the majority of his life there until he relocated to New Middletown, OH in 2023.

After high school, Tom worked as a Brunswick bowling mechanic, a fabricator, and a bus driver & courier for the Poland School District. Tom enjoyed attending sporting and school activities for his grandkids and great-grandkids with his beloved wife, their daughter, and son-in-law, who lived locally. He enjoyed dining out with his wife, family, and friends at local establishments. Tom had a fondness for ice cream and sweet desserts, especially those made by his family members. Simply put, he loved his family and the time they spent together.

Tom and Eleanor enjoyed traveling. One of their frequent destinations was Las Vegas, NV to see their daughter and grandchildren. On these trips playing the slot machines, Tom's love for games of chance was born. He continued playing and enjoying them for the rest of his life.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor (Borsic) Geidner who he married on October 25, 1962; his children, Kathy (Tom) Wargo of New Middletown, Donna Morell of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Nicole (Don) DeZarn, Amanda (Stephen) Horne, Mark (Emily) Morell, Erik Morell, Lauren Morell; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Bryce, Madelynn, Mason, Owen, and, last but not least, he had the honor to meet and hold his newest great-granddaughter, Parker. Tom is also survived by his siblings, Joseph, Frank, and Charles Geidner, Agnes Kish, and sister-in-law, Kathy Heffinger. Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Geidner; siblings, Ed, Virginia, Betty, Helen, Annie, Jim, and Peggy.

The Geidner family would like to thank the staff of Masternick Memorial Health Care Center and Akeso Hospice for the compassionate and loving care they provided.

Details for a Celebration of Life Service will be announced in the future.
