Wayne Thomas Riordan Jr

Wayne Thomas Riordan Jr., age 64 of Meadville Pa., passed away at UPMC Presbyterian Pittsburgh from an acute heart ailment on Monday July 22, 2019.

He was born on May 27,1955 to Wayne Thomas Riordan Sr. and Twila Peterson of Meadville Pa. Wayne previously was married to Sherri Huckelberry and Connie Niemeyer and had a longtime companion, Darlene Thomas.

Wayne was a 1973 graduate of Meadville Area High School and also served in the U.S. Army. He held various jobs including as a truck driver for 25 years, GTI and Greenleaf Corporation, and most recently, Metro Taxi.

He was a member of Vernon Volunteer Station 27 and affiliated with the Salvation Army church.

Wayne played many different musical instruments. His love of music led to playing in several bands throughout his lifetime, with his most recent gigs being played with “Linda’s Family Band”. Wayne also enjoyed playing pool and darts, hunting, and watching Steeler football. He was an avid NASCAR fan with his favorite driver being Kevin Harvick.

He is survived by his son, Shawn Riordan of Linesville Pa.; stepson, Chris Niemeyer and stepdaughter, Kristen Mertens of Cincinnati Oh; his sisters, Linda (Bill)  Narpes and Lorri (Larry) Moyer of Meadville Pa, Carol (JR) Moyer of Cochranton Pa.; his brothers, Richard (India) Riordan of Meadville Pa., Robbie (Kim) Riordan of Conneaut Lake Pa., and step brothers, Franklin Riordan and Robert Riordan of Ft. Myers Fl.; his grandson, Zain Riordan of Linesville Pa.; and also several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Thomas Riordan Sr. and stepfather, David Edson Shaw; his grandmothers, Susie Peterson and Irene Fitch; his daughter, Stacy Riordan and granddaughter, Alyssa Riordan.

A memorial service to be scheduled at a later date.
