William Robert Ferry

On Wednesday June 25, 2025 , William Robert Ferry, age 62 passed away at Mercy Health- Youngstown. He was born March 26, 1963, in Youngstown, OH, to Richard and Nancy (Cromer) Ferry.

A proud graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1981, Bill remained rooted in the community where he was born and raised. Known for his mechanical aptitude and boundless curiosity, he earned the affectionate nickname “Mr. Fix-It” among those who knew him best. Whether it was repairing cars or tackling household projects, Bill found joy in solving problems with his hands and mind.

Bill shared a deep and enduring bond with his longtime partner Peggy Wilson of Austintown. He embraced Peggy’s son Adam and daughter-in-law Arianna as family, cherishing their presence in his life.

He is also remembered by his brother Richard L. Ferry Jr. and sister-in-law Candace of Austintown; niece Lauren Solomon and her husband Tarik of Salem; and nephew Richard Ferry and his wife Erica of Austintown.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Nancy (Cromer) Ferry; his sister Dorothy (Ferry) Fisher; and brother-in-law Robert Fisher of Austintown.

Beyond his talents as a handyman, Bill had a playful spirit. He was a practical joker who brought laughter to many moments. He loved the outdoors—camping under the stars, casting a line into quiet waters while fishing, and spending time with those he held dear.

He will be deeply missed by many friends and family members whose lives were touched by his humor, generosity, and unwavering presence.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Bill’s life and legacy.
